This one got lost in my inbox, but I'm so glad I uncovered it. I'm working my way through Meditations for Mortals, thanks to your earlier recommendation. I've come to recognize letting go-ness as one of Life's major lessons. Letting go of certainty allows for flexibility; we must adjust when things don't go as planned, which makes us stronger IMO. It takes a certain courage to pursue an endeavor when the outcome is unknown (as, let's face it, most outcomes are). I love looking at your short list and seeing that ultimately you have accomplished each item. That's courage. And resilience.

I guess it's my age--ahem, lived experience talking, but I choose to reframe your questions not as what I'm avoiding in the face of uncertainty, but what WILL I do differently, how can I progress if and when (emphasis on the latter) things go awry, as I am certain at times they will. Coming out on the other side...that's growth. Thanks for the book recommends, the worthwhile prompt, and the reminder that--for reals though--the world as we know it may end at any moment. Oh, what the hell, let's go for the contract (or insert goal here)!
